Ingredients
  

For the tuna mixture
  • 1 can 1 can of tuna (approximately 5 ounces), drained
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons mayonnaise Add more for a creamier texture.
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
For assembling the sandwich
  • 4 slices 4 slices of bread (whole grain or white, your choice) Toast the bread for a crunchy texture if desired.
  • 1 leaf Lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato 1 tomato, sliced

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by draining your canned tuna thoroughly and placing it in a mixing bowl. Then, chop the celery and onion into small pieces and set them aside.
Mixing the Tuna
  1. Add the mayonnaise to the bowl with the tuna. Mix well until all ingredients are combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Toast the Bread (Optional)
  1. If you like your sandwich with a little crunch, toast the slices of bread until they’re golden brown.
Assembling the Sandwich
  1. Lay out two slices of bread on a plate, place a generous scoop of the tuna mixture on one slice, followed by a layer of lettuce leaves and tomato slices. Top it off with the other slice of bread.
Serving
  1. Cut the sandwich in half for easier handling and serve it with your favorite side, like chips or a salad.

Notes

Store any uneaten tuna mix in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Avoid storing the sandwich already assembled to prevent sogginess.
