Ingredients

Dough and Filling
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade) Use your preferred pizza dough.
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded Can substitute with other cheeses if desired.
Garlic Butter Mixture
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough into strips, approximately 1 inch wide.
  3. Place a small amount of shredded mozzarella at one end of each strip.
  4. Starting at the cheese end, roll the dough strip towards the opposite end to enclose the cheese. Twist the dough gently a couple of times to form a knot, tucking the ends underneath.
Baking
  1. In a bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Brush this garlic butter mixture liberally over the tops of each knot.
  2. Place the knots on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Once they’re out of the oven, give them a final brush of garlic butter and a sprinkle of extra parsley if desired. Serve them warm!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes. Unbaked knots can be frozen and cooked from frozen with additional baking time.
