- Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Toss in your chosen chopped vegetables and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until tender.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until coated.
- Stir in the fresh basil just before serving.
- Serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
For best results, add basil at the end to preserve its flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
