Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the orange zest and white chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Baking
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked, which is okay as they’ll continue to cook on the baking sheet.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze in a single layer and keep in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months. Warm in the microwave for a gooey treat.
