Ingredients

Pasta and Chicken
  • 8 ounces pasta (e.g., fettuccine or penne) Cook according to package instructions.
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces Use for sautéing.
Cheesy Sauce
  • 2 cups shredded white cheddar cheese Adjust cheese type if desired.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For creaminess.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the chicken.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Adds flavor to the sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder For seasoning.
  • Salt and pepper to taste To season the chicken.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional) For presentation.

Method

Cooking
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the bite-sized chicken pieces and season with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Sauté until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown (approximately 5-7 minutes).
  3. Reduce the heat to low. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Allow it to simmer gently for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Gradually stir in the shredded white cheddar cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. You may need to adjust the heat to ensure it doesn’t boil aggressively.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly in the creamy sauce. Make sure everything is well combined and heated through.
  6. Once everything is nice and hot, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

For a complete meal, serve with a garden salad or garlic bread. Feel free to swap chicken for shrimp or vegetables for variations.
