Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Pour the apple pie filling into the bottom of the prepared dish, ensuring it covers the pan evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon on top.
- Sprinkle the entire box of yellow cake mix evenly over the apple layer.
- Drizzle the melted butter generously over the cake mix.
- Pour the caramel sauce evenly over the top of the cake mix.
- If desired, sprinkle the chopped nuts over the top.
Baking
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apple filling bubbles up around the edges.
- Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before serving warm with whipped topping or ice cream.
Notes
For variations, consider using a spice cake mix instead of yellow cake mix. Avoid mixing the ingredients too much to keep the layering intact.
