Ingredients

For the noodles
  • 8 oz noodles (e.g., rice noodles or spaghetti) Choose your preferred type of noodle.
For the garlic sauce
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced Freshly minced for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce (optional, adjust to taste) Add for a kick of heat.
For garnishing
  • 2 green onions, sliced For freshness.
  • to taste sesame seeds For garnish.

Method

Cooking the Noodles
  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the noodles. Cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes for spaghetti or as directed for rice noodles. Once done, drain and set aside.
Preparing the Garlic Oil
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant. Be careful not to brown the garlic, as it can become bitter.
Adding Sauces
  1. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and optional chili sauce. Mix well, allowing the flavors to meld for another 1 minute.
Combining Noodles
  1. Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet with the garlic sauce. Mix everything thoroughly, ensuring the noodles are evenly coated with the fragrant oil. You can add a splash of water if it feels too dry.
Garnishing
  1. Finally, remove from heat and sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Give it a gentle toss to distribute the garnishes.
Serving
  1. Plate the noodles and enjoy them right away! Feel free to adjust toppings to your preference.

Notes

For perfect garlic noodles, rinse the noodles under cold water after cooking to avoid sticky texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
