  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar Adjust based on taste preference.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons chai spice mix Customize with more cinnamon or ginger if desired.
  • 1 stick cinnamon stick For extra flavor.

Preparation

  2. In a large saucepan, add the diced pears, water, sugar, vanilla extract, chai spice mix, and cinnamon stick.
Cooking
  1. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  2. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pears are soft and the mixture has thickened.
  3. Remove the cinnamon stick and use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
Storage
  1. Let the pear butter cool slightly before transferring it to an airtight container.
  2. Refrigerate for up to two weeks or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

For longer storage, freeze your pear butter in freezer-safe containers. To reheat, use the microwave or stovetop and stir gently.
