Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into wedges. Set them aside.
- In an oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the sugar, stirring constantly until it turns a light golden color. Be careful not to burn it!
- Once the caramel is ready, add the apple slices to the skillet. Sprinkle cinnamon and a pinch of salt over the apples. Cook for about 5-10 minutes until the apples begin to soften and are coated in caramel.
- While the apples are cooking, roll out the puff pastry sheet to fit your skillet.
- Remove the skillet from heat and carefully place the puff pastry over the apples, tucking the edges into the sides of the skillet.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
- Once baked, allow the tart to cool for a few minutes before flipping it onto a serving plate. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
To preserve your tart, cover it tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze securely for up to a month. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
