Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Ensure the beef is Halal.
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water Adjust amount to avoid a soupy mixture.

  • as needed taco shells or tortillas
  • as desired toppings (lettuce, cheese, salsa, etc.) Experiment with toppings for variety.

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients. Dice the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and break it up into small pieces. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
  4. Stir in the taco seasoning and add 1/2 cup of water, mixing well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
  6. Remove from heat and serve the meat in taco shells or warm tortillas. Set up a topping bar with your favorite garnishes.

Notes

For a lighter option, experiment with ground turkey or chicken. Avoid rushing the browning process for better flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
