  • 4 pieces ripe peaches Fully ripe for maximum flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 cup water For making the syrup.
For the Lemonade
  • 1 cup lemon juice Freshly squeezed is best!
  • 4 cups cold water To dilute the lemonade.
  • as needed cups Ice For serving.
  • as needed slices Peach slices For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the peaches thoroughly, then peel, pit, and slice them.
Make the Peach Syrup
  1. In a saucepan, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium until the sugar has dissolved and the peaches have softened (about 5-7 minutes). Stir occasionally.
  2. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
Blend
  1. Transfer the peach mixture to a blender and blend until smooth. Optionally strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any peach pulp.
Combine with Lemon Juice
  1. In a large pitcher, combine the peach puree with 1 cup of fresh lemon juice and stir in 4 cups of cold water. Adjust sweetness with more sugar if desired.
Chill and Serve
  1. Serve over ice in individual glasses. Garnish with fresh peach slices.

Notes

For best flavor, let the lemonade chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving. Leftover lemonade can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze the peach syrup into ice cubes for a refreshing drink anytime.
