Preparation
- Coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch in a bowl, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
Frying Chicken
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot.
- Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
Making the Sauce
- In the same skillet, lower the heat and add the orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Cook the sauce until slightly thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
Combine and Serve
- Add the fried chicken back into the skillet, tossing well to coat in the sauce.
- Plate the Ultimate Orange Chicken and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
For a Halal-friendly option, substitute chicken with tofu. Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to avoid soggy chicken.
