Method
Preparation
- Start by washing and cutting your potatoes into bite-sized pieces.
Cooking Potatoes
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper, tossing to coat. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown and tender.
Preparing Steak
- While the potatoes cook, season your steak with salt and pepper on both sides. For extra flavor, let it sit for about 5 minutes before cooking.
Add Garlic
- Once the potatoes are nearly finished, push them to the side of the skillet. Add the minced garlic and stir it around for about a minute until fragrant.
Sear Steak
- In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt. Push the potatoes aside and place the steak in the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time depending on your desired doneness.
Combine Everything
- Once the steak is cooked, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice it against the grain and then return it to the skillet, mixing it with the potatoes and garlic.
Garnish
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley for a touch of color and flavor. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Leftover skillet can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to a month. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat with a teaspoon of butter or olive oil.
