  • 1 packet taco seasoning Make sure it’s Halal compliant
For the Salad

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup black beans, rinsed and drained

For Serving

Method

Cooking the Turkey
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground turkey. Break it up with a wooden spoon and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once the turkey is browned, add the taco seasoning and a splash of water. Stir well and let simmer for about 3-5 minutes until the flavors meld.
Preparing the Salad Base
  1. In a large serving bowl, combine the chopped lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, drained black beans, and corn.
Assembling the Bowls
  1. Once the turkey is ready, layer it over the salad base. Add diced avocado and shredded cheese on top.
  2. Just before serving, sprinkle tortilla chips on top for that coveted crunch!
  3. If desired, serve with a dollop of sour cream and a drizzle of salsa for added flavor.

Notes

You can easily swap ground turkey with other Halal meats like ground chicken or beef. Tofu or lentils are great vegetarian alternatives. To save time, prepare the ingredients in advance and assemble the salad just before serving. Avoid overcooking the turkey; it can become dry. Keep it juicy for maximum flavor! Store leftovers separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for about 3 days. Reheat turkey gently, but enjoy veggies cold and fresh.
