Preparation
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thick wedges, aiming for a classic triangle shape, about ½ inch thick.
- Soak the triangular wedges in cold water for at least 20 minutes to enhance crispiness.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) while the wedges are soaking.
- Drain and pat the wedges dry with a clean towel. In a large mixing bowl, combine the wedges with salt, oil, black pepper, and paprika, tossing until well coated.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the seasoned wedges in a single layer, ensuring space between each piece for even cooking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with your favorite dip!
Notes
For extra crispy fries, consider frying them instead of baking. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for a month. To reheat, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes.
