Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until evenly blended.
- In a separate large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, then mix in eggs, vanilla extract, and cooled coffee until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
Baking
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Tiramisu Layer
- While the brownies are baking, beat the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. If using coffee liqueur, gently fold it in.
- Once the brownies have cooled, spread the mascarpone mixture evenly on top.
- Dust the top with cocoa powder before serving.
Notes
These brownies can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. To freeze, wrap individual pieces tightly and they’ll last for about a month. Let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before reheating in the microwave.
