Method
Preparation of Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in the milk and egg until a dough forms.
Kneading and Shaping
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 4-5 minutes until smooth.
- Use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
Filling and Rolling
- Spread the softened butter over the dough.
- In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
- Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a log shape.
- Slice the log into 12 even pieces.
Baking the Rolls
- Place the rolls into a greased baking dish, making sure they are snug against each other.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Preparing the Three Milks Sauce
- While the rolls are baking, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream in a bowl.
Soaking and Serving
- Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and pour the three milks sauce evenly over the top.
- Let them absorb the sauce for at least 15-20 minutes before serving.
- Enjoy your warm Three Milks Cinnamon Rolls with a cup of tea or coffee, and share them with family and friends!
