Ingredients
  

For the Garlic Butter
  • 1 loaf French bread Use a crusty French baguette for best results.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature for easy spreading.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is recommended for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped Adds a fresh flavor; can substitute with other herbs.
For the Cheese Topping
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds a sharp, nutty flavor.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For gooeyness, use whole fat mozzarella.
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese Provides a rich flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter and minced garlic. Mix until well combined. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Take your French bread loaf and slice it in half lengthwise. Place the halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
Assembly
  1. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over each half of the bread.
  2. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese generously over the buttered bread halves followed by the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the prepared bread in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread turn golden brown.
  2. Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and sprinkle the chopped parsley over the top.
Serving
  1. Slice the bread into individual pieces and serve warm.

Notes

Cheese substitutions are allowed based on preference, and ensure butter is soft for mixing. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
