Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, brown sugar, and chopped pecans.
- Pour in the melted butter, eggs, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth; some lumps are okay!
- Gently swirl in the pecan pie filling to create layers.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden-brown and the center is gooey.
- Allow the cake to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
Notes
For Halal-friendly options, substitute vanilla with almond extract or use a gluten-free cake mix. Avoid overbaking to preserve the gooey center.
