Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Final Touch
  • 1 cup pecan pie filling

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, brown sugar, and chopped pecans.
  4. Pour in the melted butter, eggs, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth; some lumps are okay!
  5. Gently swirl in the pecan pie filling to create layers.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden-brown and the center is gooey.
  7. Allow the cake to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.

Notes

For Halal-friendly options, substitute vanilla with almond extract or use a gluten-free cake mix. Avoid overbaking to preserve the gooey center.
