  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Add one at a time
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Scoop out portions of the dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

For perfect cookies, ensure your butter is softened, refrigerate the dough if too sticky, and don't over-bake. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
