Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Scoop out portions of the dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
For perfect cookies, ensure your butter is softened, refrigerate the dough if too sticky, and don't over-bake. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
