Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl. Make sure they’re nice and mushy for maximum flavor!
- Mix in the melted butter until well combined.
- Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then mix in the flour just until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips to ensure they are evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Baking
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding nuts, dried fruits, or a swirl of peanut butter. Store wrapped in plastic or foil for up to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the refrigerator.
