  • 200 g sugar (about 1 cup)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 190 g all-purpose flour (about 1 ½ cups)
  • 150 g chocolate chips (about 1 cup)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl. Make sure they’re nice and mushy for maximum flavor!
  3. Mix in the melted butter until well combined.
  4. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then mix in the flour just until fully incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips to ensure they are evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding nuts, dried fruits, or a swirl of peanut butter. Store wrapped in plastic or foil for up to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the refrigerator.
