Method
Cooking the Rice
- In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the 1 cup of long grain rice along with 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Stir once, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes until all the water is absorbed.
Preparing the Cream Mixture
- While the rice is cooking, melt 1/4 cup of butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the 1 cup of sour cream and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, along with any additional herbs if desired.
Combining
- Once the rice is fully cooked, fluff it with a fork.
- Pour the creamy mixture over the rice, stirring gently to combine.
Garnishing
- Serve hot and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
Notes
Substitutions: Greek yogurt can be used instead of sour cream for a slightly tangy flavor. Make sure to cover the rice while cooking to retain steam. Avoid overcooking the rice to ensure a perfect texture.
