Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look soft.
- Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, ensure your butter is softened to room temperature. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can enhance the flavors and improve texture. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week, or refrigerate for longer storage.
