Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, ensuring everything is well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the rolled oats and semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a flavor boost, try adding a pinch of cinnamon. If you like your cookies thick, refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week; freeze for up to three months.
