Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef Ensure it's halal
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Can substitute with crushed oats or gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef gravy

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, and finely chopped onion. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Pour this mixture into the beef mixture and thoroughly combine until evenly blended.
  4. Transfer the mixture onto a baking tray, shaping it into a loaf form that is approximately 2 inches tall.
Baking
  1. Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake for 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  2. About 10 minutes before the meatloaf is done, pour the beef gravy over the top. Let it bake for the remaining time.
Serving
  1. Once done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For perfect texture, use ground beef with a fat content of about 80%. Avoid overmixing to prevent a dense loaf. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
