  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature Make sure it is properly softened.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature.
Add-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the room temperature butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using a mixer until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated, then add the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
  7. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough balls onto lined baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  2. Remove from oven and let cookies sit on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

For dairy-free, substitute butter with plant-based options. Keep a close eye on baking time as ovens vary.
