Preparation
- Start by boiling 2 cups of water in a saucepan. This should take about 5 minutes on medium-high heat.
- Once the water is boiling, add 2 tablespoons of Thai tea leaves. Stir gently and allow it to brew for about 5 minutes.
- After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer into a mixing bowl. Add in your 1/4 cup of sugar while the tea is still warm, and stir until it fully dissolves.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature. Then, refrigerate the tea until it is chilled.
- In a glass, pour the chilled tea over ice cubes and add your desired amount of milk or condensed milk for creaminess.
- Stir gently and enjoy your homemade Thai tea! Don’t forget to share with family and friends!
Notes
For a Halal-friendly version, substitute regular milk with almond or coconut milk. Store brewed tea in the refrigerator for up to a week; add milk fresh for the best texture.
