  • 1 package (16 oz.) Velveeta cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup salsa (mild or hot) depending on heat preference
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey, cooked and drained
  • 1 can (10 oz.) diced tomatoes with green chilies optional
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 piece diced jalapeƱo optional for extra heat
  • 1 cup crushed tortilla chips for topping
  • Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish

Preparation
  1. Cook the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the Velveeta cheese and sour cream over low heat. Stir frequently until the cheese has melted and you have a smooth mixture.
  3. Stir in the salsa and cooked ground meat (and diced tomatoes if using). Mix everything thoroughly until combined and heated through.
  4. Pour the dip mixture into a serving dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top, along with diced jalapeƱos if using.
  5. Before serving, add crushed tortilla chips on top and garnish with freshly chopped cilantro or green onions.
  6. Serve warm with additional tortilla chips, veggies, or bread for dippers.

Notes

Enjoy with crispy tortilla chips, crunchy veggies, or soft bread. This dip can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
