Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 slices Texas Toast (thick cut) Use thick cut for best results.
  • 400 g roast beef (thinly sliced) Can substitute with thinly sliced chicken or turkey.
  • 200 g Swiss cheese (shredded) For added melty goodness.
  • 2 cups au jus (for dipping) Warm before serving.
  • 4 tablespoons butter (for spreading on toast) Helps in achieving crispy toast.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of Texas Toast.
  3. On the unbuttered side of half of the slices, layer the thinly sliced roast beef, then sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese on top.
  4. Top with the remaining slices of Texas Toast, buttered side up, to create sandwiches.
Cooking
  1. Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
  2. While baking, heat the au jus in a saucepan until warm.
  3. Once the sandwiches are ready, cut them in half and serve with au jus for dipping.
