Preparation
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
- Add the activated yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Rising
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 15–20 equal portions. Shape each into a smooth ball and place them in a greased baking dish or sheet pan.
- Cover again and let the rolls rise for another 30–45 minutes until puffy.
Baking
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush rolls with melted butter and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, honey, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
- Brush freshly baked rolls with melted butter, serve warm with honey cinnamon butter, and prepare for smiles all around!
