Ingredients

For the Rolls
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2¼ tsp)
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • ½ cup sugar (divided)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Extra for brushing melted butter
For the Honey Cinnamon Butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (adjust to taste)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the activated yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Rising
  1. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. Punch down the dough and divide it into 15–20 equal portions. Shape each into a smooth ball and place them in a greased baking dish or sheet pan.
  3. Cover again and let the rolls rise for another 30–45 minutes until puffy.
Baking
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush rolls with melted butter and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, honey, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
  3. Brush freshly baked rolls with melted butter, serve warm with honey cinnamon butter, and prepare for smiles all around!
