Method
Activation and Mixing
- In a small bowl, combine the yeast with 1/4 cup of warm water (about 110°F). Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
- In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter, milk, sugar, eggs, and salt together. Once well combined, add the foamy yeast mixture.
- Gradually add in 2 cups of flour, mixing until smooth. Mix in the remaining flour, a little at a time, until the dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
Kneading and Rising
- On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until it doubles in size.
Shaping and Final Rise
- Punch down the dough and divide it into small pieces. Shape them into rolls and place them in a greased baking pan.
- Cover the rolls again and let them rise for another 30 minutes until they puff up.
Baking and Serving
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While hot, serve with a sweet whipped cinnamon butter on the side. Enjoy!
Notes
Ensure your yeast is fresh for best results. Customize rolls by adding herbs or cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
