Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place your pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan and gently press it into the edges. Trim any excess dough, and poke a few holes in the bottom with a fork.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter carefully.
Filling
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and corn syrup. Whisk in the eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
Baking
- Pour the filling mixture into your prepared pie crust.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the pie cool for at least 2 hours before slicing.
Serving
- Top with whipped cream or ice cream, and serve.
Notes
To store leftovers, cover tightly and refrigerate for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a microwave or preheated oven.
