Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups Tater Tots Frozen or homemade
  • 1 pound Halal ground beef (or Halal sausage) Feel free to substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or your favorite cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream For topping
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions For topping
  • Hot sauce Optional, for a spicy kick

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Halal ground beef (or sausage) until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon for about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Assemble the Cups: Lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray. Layer Tater Tots at the bottom of each cup to form the base, pressing down gently to create a well.
  4. Add Beef and Cheese: Spoon a portion of the cooked meat into each cup, followed by a layer of shredded cheese.
  5. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until Tater Tots are golden and cheese is bubbly.
  6. Finish with Toppings: Top each cup with sour cream, green onions, and hot sauce if desired.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Allow the cups to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze them for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven to maintain crunch.
