Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!
- Gently fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, ensure ingredients are at room temperature. Substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a nutty twist. Consider adding a teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
