Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until creamy and light in texture, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla and almond extracts for added flavor.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until there are no visible streaks of flour.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
