Ingredients

Berries
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or your favorites!) Choose ripe and fresh berries for best flavor.
Jelly Base
  • 1 cup berry juice (such as cranberry or raspberry juice) Use 100% juice for the best flavor.
  • 1 packet gelatin (or 2 1/2 teaspoons powdered gelatin) Choose Halal-certified gelatin.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjust to taste, depending on berry sweetness.
Optional Topping
  • 1 cup whipped cream For serving; optional.

Method

Preparation
  1. Rinse your mixed berries under cold water. If using strawberries, slice them into halves or quarters based on size. Set them aside.
  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 1/4 cup of cold berry juice. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes to bloom.
Combine Ingredients
  1. In a saucepan, heat the remaining 3/4 cup of berry juice and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm but not boiling.
  2. Once the juice is heated, remove from heat and add the bloomed gelatin, stirring until completely dissolved. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Gently fold in your mixed berries into the gelatin mixture. Pour the mixture into a mold or serving cups.
Setting and Serving
  1. Place the dessert in the refrigerator and let it set for about 4-6 hours, until it’s firm and jiggly.
  2. Once set, serve with a dollop of whipped cream if desired. Enjoy this enchanting treat with family!

Notes

For variations, consider using different fruit juices or swapping the mixed berries for other fruits like mango or kiwi. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
