Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s nice and hot when your crisp is ready to bake.
- In a large bowl, toss your sliced apples with lemon juice and cinnamon to coat them evenly.
- In another bowl, combine rolled oats, almond flour, melted butter (or coconut oil), maple syrup (or your sweetener), and salt. Mix until you have a crumbly mixture.
Assembly and Baking
- Spread the coated apples evenly in a baking dish. Sprinkle the oat topping generously over the apples.
- Place your dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
Serving
- Allow it to cool slightly before serving. It pairs wonderfully with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a scoop of sugar-free ice cream.
Notes
To avoid sogginess, consider lightly pre-cooking the apples to release excess moisture before baking. This recipe can be easily halved or doubled based on your needs. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
