Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and diced celery. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Toss well to combine.
- Pour in the vegetable broth and beaten eggs. If using cheese, fold it in last. Mix until the bread cubes are moistened but not mushy.
- With your hands, scoop out portions of the mixture and roll them into balls, about the size of a golf ball.
- Place the stuffing balls on a greased baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
- Allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy as a side dish or a fun appetizer.
Notes
These stuffing balls are versatile and can be enjoyed with various side dishes like mashed potatoes, salads, or casseroles. Consider using a mix of breads for flavor and texture, and let the mixture sit for better flavor melding.
