Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted Ensure butter is not too hot when mixing.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips Substitute with halal-certified chocolate if needed.
  • 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and baking powder. Stir until well mixed.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold them together using a spatula. Be careful not to overmix!
  5. Gently fold in the white chocolate chips and chopped strawberries until evenly distributed in the batter.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center looks slightly underbaked.
  7. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Store remaining bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Warm in the microwave for 10-15 seconds for a fresh experience.
