Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the cold butter cubes and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish and layer the sliced strawberries on top.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream.
Notes
Store leftover bars in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator. They can be frozen for up to two months.
