Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Use for the dough base
  • 1/2 cup strawberry milk Can substitute with regular milk mixed with strawberry syrup
  • 1/4 cup sugar Used for sweetness in the dough
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened Add to the dough mixture
  • 1 packet active dry yeast Required for the dough to rise
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Used to balance flavors
  • 1 large egg Adds richness to the dough
Filling Ingredients
  • to taste Ground cinnamon For sprinkling in the filling
  • to taste Extra sugar For sprinkling in the filling
  • optional Strawberry jam For an extra flavor twist in the filling

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm strawberry milk and the active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it's frothy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, mix together the frothy yeast mixture and the softened butter. Add the egg, and mix well.
  3. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until a dough begins to form. If the dough is sticky, add a little bit more flour, a tablespoon at a time.
  4. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover it with a kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  7. Spread softened butter on the rolled-out dough, and sprinkle with ground cinnamon and sugar. If you're using strawberry jam, add it as well for an extra twist of flavor!
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log, and cut it into 8 equal pieces.
  9. Place the rolls into a greased baking pan. Cover them again with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.
  2. Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm!

Notes

For perfect rolls, ensure the dough has ample time to rise and avoid adding too much flour while kneading. These rolls can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for about 2 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven for best results.
