Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 slices slices of bread (white or whole grain) You can opt for gluten-free bread if needed!
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced Be sure to have fresh strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Ensure the cream is fully chilled for the best volume.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Dust the sandwiches before serving for an elegant touch.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor to the cream mixture.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, pour in 1 cup of heavy cream. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer, beat the mixture on medium speed until soft peaks form, typically about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Wash your strawberries thoroughly and remove the stems. Slice them into thin rounds so they can be evenly distributed across the sandwiches.
  3. Take a slice of bread and spread a generous amount of the whipped cream mixture on top. Layer with sliced strawberries, then top with another slice of bread to complete the sandwich. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  4. For a fancy touch, cut the sandwiches diagonally or into quarters. Arrange them on a platter and dust the tops lightly with more powdered sugar, if desired.
  5. These sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh, but you can keep them in the fridge for a short while if needed.

Notes

Experiment with flavors by adding a hint of lemon zest to the cream or using flavored whipped cream. Prepare the cream mixture ahead of time and assemble just before serving to prevent sogginess.
