Ingredients
Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Stir until combined. Gradually add in the rest of the flour until a soft dough forms.
Knead the Dough
- On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Form it into a ball.
Let it Rise
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Prepare Filling
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth. Set aside.
Roll Out the Dough
- After the dough rises, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
Spread Filling
- Spread the cinnamon mixture evenly over the dough. Scatter chopped strawberries on top.
Roll and Cut
- Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
Place in Baking Dish
- Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
Bake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake rolls for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Make the Glaze
- While the rolls bake, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls after removing from the oven.
Notes
Don’t skip the rise time: Allowing the dough to rise properly ensures your rolls are fluffy and tender. Fresh strawberries are key for best flavor and sweetness. Experiment with flavors by adding nuts, chocolate chips, or a hint of lemon zest.
