Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup warm water
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
For the Cheesecake Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
  2. In another bowl, combine warm water, melted butter, and egg. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture.
  3. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until you have a smooth dough.
First Rise
  1. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
Prepare Filling
  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until well combined.
  2. Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
Assemble
  1. After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangular shape, approximately 12×18 inches.
  2. Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  3. Starting from one end, roll it tightly into a log shape.
Cut and Second Rise
  1. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 12 equal pieces.
  2. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Prepare Glaze
  1. While the rolls are baking, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
Serve
  1. Once the rolls are out of the oven and slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top.
  2. Serve warm, and watch as your family devours these delightful rolls!

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute cream cheese with a dairy-free alternative and use almond milk for the glaze. Make sure to let the dough rise properly for soft, fluffy rolls. Avoid overworking the dough.
