  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
Fruit Layer
  • 4 cups Strawberries, sliced fresh or frozen

  • 1 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 cup Milk
  • to taste optional Powdered Sugar for dusting

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Beat until smooth and creamy, then spread evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Spread the sliced strawberries evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the cake mix with the melted butter and milk. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Spoon the cake batter over the strawberries, spreading it as evenly as possible.
Baking
  1. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Once baked, let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Feel free to swap out strawberries for other berries or peaches. Use different flavored cake mixes for a fun twist. Allow the cake to cool before serving to help set the layers. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
