Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set this aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract, mixing well until fully combined.
Baking
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in the sliced strawberries, being careful not to break them apart.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
