Cookie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Ensure proper measuring to avoid dense cookies.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos For that special twist.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional, for extra chocolaty goodness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in crushed Oreos and chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
  2. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. To enjoy, thaw at room temperature or microwave for a few seconds.
