Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 500 g Chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • Salt to taste Salt
  • Pepper to taste Pepper
For the Sticky Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
For Assembly
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 1 cup Lettuce, shredded
  • 1 large Tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by flattening the chicken breasts gently with a meat mallet for even cooking. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
Coating
  1. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, another with a beaten egg, and the last with breadcrumbs. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip it into the egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs until well-covered.
Frying
  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Making the Sauce
  1. While the chicken is cooking, mix the honey and soy sauce in a bowl until combined.
Assembly
  1. Once the chicken is cooked, drizzle the sticky sauce over the hot pieces and let it soak in for a moment. Toast the burger buns gently on a skillet.
Serving
  1. On each bun, spread a generous amount of mayonnaise, add a piece of crispy chicken, top with lettuce and tomato slices, and cover with the other half of the bun.
  2. Serve immediately with extra sticky sauce on the side and your favorite sides like fries or a salad.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze cooked chicken breasts for up to a month. To reheat, place chicken in an oven preheated to 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes.
