Ingredients

Marinade Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional) Provides color and flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground black pepper, paprika, onion powder, ground cumin, and salt if you choose to use it. Whisk all the ingredients together until well blended.
Marinating
  1. Place your steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring all sides are well coated. Let it marinate for at least one hour—longer for more flavor, up to overnight in the refrigerator.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your grill or pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, remove the steak from the marinade and allow any excess to drip off. Grill for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting according to your desired doneness.
  2. After cooking, let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to retain the juices.
Serving
  1. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and extra zest before serving.

Notes

Substitutions: Try adding honey for a sweet touch. Timing: Letting it sit overnight is ideal for flavor. Avoid overcooking; use a meat thermometer for best results.
