Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Use an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by adding the vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips or colorful sprinkles.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
- Place your pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Decorating
- Allow your cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Decorate with fresh fruits or additional sprinkles as desired.
Notes
For dairy-free options, you can substitute butter with coconut oil or margarine. Feel free to add nuts or dried fruits for extra flavor. Allow sufficient cooling time before decorating to avoid melting toppings.
